The amount of "shoot" angles that TNA uses is just another element which sets it apart from the WWE. Because TNA caters to a more complex and niche audience, it has allowed itself to blur the line between a scripted formulaic world and the sports entertainment world. "Shoot" angles use real wrestling or MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and the results are often not scripted.
TNA uses the audiences knowledge of Kayfabe (the acknowledged scripted events that occur during professional wrestling, the suspension of disbelief which is required for all scripted drama) to subvert what they might expect to have, openly recognizing the booking team and the hierarchy present within both TNA and WWE.
TNA is well recognized as having a good mix of established wrestling veterans paired alongside with tag teams, exciting cruiserweights and female wrestlers. In comparison to the WWE, TNA focuses mostly on actual wrestling as opposed to out-of-ring angles, thus meaning the TNA wrestlers generally have a better wrestling ability.
Along with their own talent, TNA also has former WCW and WWE wrestlers such as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Booker T, Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, The Dudley Boys, Abyss, Sting and Matt Morgan.
The TNA DVD's has opened up new avenues for TNA to expand into. Thus bringing the TNA brand of wrestling to countries outside of the United States or those that don't air TNA Impact such as New Zealand.
