Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?

There is a lot of pain and suffering in this world, and sometimes it seems that God just sits back and watches and doesn't care. Why is that? I don't know if we're ever going to find an answer to that question while we're still alive, but I'd like to give my opinion.

I believe I'm like most people. I want to be comfortable, happy and safe. I want to have enough money to pay my bills, to help my kids with college, and to go on a vacation once in a while. I want to be healthy. What's wrong with that? Why wouldn't God want the same things for me? Well, I believe it's because He want much, much more for me!

I've read many books by Dr. Larry Crabb, best-selling author, psychologist, and counselor, and while they are always excellent and insightful, most of the ones I've read have been kind of hard for me to follow, because they're so intellectual. Some of the books he's written are "The Marriage Builder", "Inside Out", and "Finding God".

I read a book by Larry Crabb recently that was quite different from the other's that I've read by him before. This book was called "Shattered Dreams - God's Unexpected Pathway to Joy", and I think it was different because it was something that Dr. Crabb had personally experienced and very intimately touched him. The book was much easier to follow, in my opinion, than the others I had read by him.

Most people believe that joy and happiness are the same thing. If we have material things to make us comfortable such as a big house, a new car, a great job than we'll have joy. Maybe having a loving husband or wife and obedient children is what's necessary. But while those things might make us happy, they don't necessarily lead to joy.

God wants us to find joy in a different place - in relationship with Him. If you can achieve that relationship and still have the above-mentioned happiness, that's great! I don't think they are necessarily exclusive of each other. After all, God does want us to have good things. The Bible says "If you know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!".

Sometimes God will let us experience pain and suffering so that we don't become too satisfied with our current lifestyle. He also realizes that we can get very busy trying to maintain that "happy" lifestyle, and that will also limit the joy we will find by having relationship with Him. What happens when we experience this pain? Most of us will do whatever we can to get rid of it.

"Shattered Dreams" encourages us to allow ourselves to feel that pain, to mourn, and to grieve. It is in the midst of these trials, and on the other side of them, that we encounter God, and only then are we able to experience the true joy that He desires. It is not comfortable or fun, but it is ultimately the only true path to joy, and in my opinion, the reason that bad things happen to good people, and why God allows suffering.

This was surprising given that it was a Sanyo. But nevertheless, it is what it is. We rate the SR-1000 a 16 for ease of use.

Key Features: This massage chair comes with the Sanyo stiffness detector. The stiffness detector uses technology borrowed from lie detectors. The stiffness detector in the SR 1000 can sense tightness in the muscles of the body and other points of stress. The user holds the side of the remote and the chair can detect these areas of stiffness. The chair will then target these areas for relief. The other interesting feature is the shape sensor. The shape sensor takes a measurement of the position of the shoulders. The chair then identifies where the shoulders are at and adjusts the massage accordingly. The rollers width will then become less when it gets to your shoulders and for your neck area. These are some advanced electronic features that are unique to Sanyo. We give a rating of 18 for key features.

Massage Therapy: This is the most important category, since this is what a massage chair is all about. When a recon bot (Eve) appears, checking for any signs of life, Walle-E has a friend. Eventually, when Eve is recovered by the craft that sent her, Wall-E sneaks aboard, and begins an exciting new life.

BOLT: Bolt is a fun animation. The star is dog actor Bolt, who in his role on television, has super hero dog powers. The thing about Bolt is that he really thinks he has these powers. After he is unexpectedly put into a real life situation, he realizes that he is just a dog. On a journey to get back home, he finds help, in the form of Rhino and Mittens, his newly found hampster and cat friends.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: Wild and crazy nights in Las Vegas are normal. Young partiers Joy and Jack get up the next day and find out that they are married. When they win a $3 million jackpot, each thinks they deserve the prize, so they ask a judge for a decision. The judge decides that for the next few months they must stay together, and try to make their marriage work. With $3 million on the line, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to wind up with all the money.

THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and Lt. Gordon and D.A. Harvey Dent, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. Crime is now down, but now a new super criminal arrives on the scene, and things get a lot worse. Batman has his work cut out him now, as the Joker is dispensing his criminal insanity on Gotham City.

Call them and leave a message saying if they just give you ten minutes, youll stop bugging them forever, so could they please call you back. If you sound sincere and make this believable, you can often get them to return your call. This way, if they do want you to stop bugging them, they can consider giving you ten minutes so you will leave them alone.

If that doesn't seem to work, you can send them a note with the same type of message. What your ex may be looking for by this time is some rest from all the pressure of your calls or messages. It may take a little while, a few days, but you can often get them to talk to you this way. It obviously depends on how emotionally upsetting your splitting up was.
